Another Case of Rendition
The Toronto Star reported that the U.S. government deported four Canadians to Syria, where they were tortured. The U.S. Ambassador refused to apologize for the removal in this case or the general policy of “rendition,” in which noncitizens with suspected terrorist ties are sent to other countries for interrigation and torture.
