Immigrants Do Not Overburden ERs

Contrary to popular belief, a survey of 60 communities shows thatthe uninsured, Hispanics and immigrants do not overburden hospitalemergency rooms.

Previous studies of Hispanics and immigrants have shown they aremore likely to be uninsured, and those without insurance are morelikely to forgo primary care. That meant they would allow conditions toworsen and then end up in the ER with serious problems. Click here.
