The Minutemen – up close and personal

This past weekend, the NPR program “This American Life” focused on games of cat & mouse.  The opening segment was on the Minutemen.  The website describes the story this way:

Just near the US-Mexico border, a group ofself-described “pissed off patriots,” the Minutemen, stake out illegalimmigrants trying to cross the border. They’ve got call-signs andwalkie-talkies and guns. But not long after they’ve set up theirobservation posts, another group shows up to cause trouble. In the darkof night, in the high desert of California, the chase begins.

I think it’s well worth a listen for its many quiet surprises and observations.  The link to the site is here.
