L.A. Times on a Sad Journey North from Mexico
The L.A. Times has a detailed story about the tragic death of 19 migrants in South Texas who Tyrone Williams, a 32-year-old Jamaican immigrant, was smuggling by truck into the United States. For a fee of $7,500, Williams agreed to carry a load of illegal immigrants through a Border Patrol checkpoint about 45 miles up the highway. After he was underway, however, Williams would be redirected by the smugglers to Houston, a six-hour drive. The results of the detour were tragic. Click here for the full story.
