The Virginia Quarterly Review (here) has a fascinating article “Life on the Line: The Arizona-Mexico Border” by Philip Caputo, author of the classic memoir A Rumor of War about his experiences as a comt soldier in Viet Nam.  Caputo is currently at work on a novel set along the US-Mexican border.  the VQR article looks at immigration and life along the U.S./Mexico border in Arizona.
