Food For Thought: More Concern for Cruelty to Animals Than for Cruelty to Immigrants?

The N.Y. Times ran an op/ed on Sunday suggesting that local events suggest greater concern with the treatment and abuse of animals than that of undocumented immigrants.  Case(s) on point.  We have heard more in the last few weeks over Michael Vicks’ dogfighting indictment than any of the many horrible happenings to immigrants reported on this blog over just this week.  Maybe immigrants would have better chances of success if they brought claims under the Endangered Species Act than the civil rights laws?
