CHIRLA Petition Against ICE Raids

Kevin Johnson reported earlier today that ICE released an announcement on the number of recent arrests in California. We have received this request from some friends in Los Angeles:

Dear Friends:  Yesterday, once again ICE officials proudly announced that they had conducted 1,150 arrests of immigrants they insist on labeling “fugitives” and “criminals”.  Today, we are requesting a few minutes of your time to sign a petition to Stop the Raids in California.  We would like to gather as many supporters as possible within the next few weeks to send to both presidential candidates and the Bush Administration.

Estimados Amigos:  Ayer, otra vez ICE hizo otro de sus anuncios que había detenido a 1,150 inmigrantes a quienes ellos insisten en llamar “fugitivos” y “criminales”.  Hoy les pedimos que firmen esta petición para un Alto a las Redadas en California.  Esperamos obtener miles de firmas en las próximas semanas para enviárselas a los dos candidatos presidenciales y a la Administración Bush.
