As often discussed on ImmigrationProf, immigrants for the last two decades have been settling not just on the two coasts, as long had been common, but in the South and Midwest as well.  This has resulted in a reaction, most notably the rise of state and local immigration laws (but also increasing hate crimes directed at Latinos). Arizona’s SB 1070 and Haztleon, PA’s  laws are perhaps the most well-known but there are many, many more.  Click here to read about the rising anti-immigrant tide in Nebraska.
