Obama’s Deportees: One Person at a Time

The Obama administration deported nearly 400,000 persons in fiscal year 2011, more than any President in U.S. history and breaking last year’s record (which broke the previous year’s). Here is one deportee’s story of a fast-track deportation from Huffington Post.

The removals have ripple effects on families, including U.S. citizen children. Read the sad story of Miriam Hernandez, born in Georgia, who works two jobs to help support her mother and siblings; she is the main breadwinner since her stepfather, an illegal immigrant, returned to El Salvador.
