Happy Memorial Day: Honoring the Foreign-Born Service Members of Yesterday and Today
As we spend Memoreial Day honoring veterans who gave their all for the United States, do not forget our immigrant vets who died for their adopted country. Immigration Impact in a post (Honoring the Foreign-Born Service Members of Yesterday and Today) reminds us of our immigrant veterans, past and present. This post remembers mmigrants who died in the Civil War. As of 1996, “More than 20 percent (over 700) of the Congressional Medal of Honor recipients in U.S. wars have been immigrants.”
