APAPA Condemns Racial Slurs by Fox TV’s Bob Beckel
From The Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association
APAPA RESPONDS TO RACIALLY DIVISIVE LANGUAGE USED BY FOX TV HOST
BOB BECKEL AND CALLS FOR AN OFFICIAL APOLOGY
The Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association (APAPA) condemns the racial slurs and fear mongering of Fox News cohost Bob Beckel and demands that Fox Broadcasting fire him. This is not the first time that Mr. Beckel has used racial slurs or obscenities on air, and termination is more than warranted.
In a Thursday, July 10 broadcast, he stated that “China men” were getting education in computer science in the United States and then going home and hacking into American computer systems. In Silicon Valley, fully 25% of start up companies are started by Chinese Americans and more than 40% of the scientists and engineers in Silicon Valley are Asian American. Chinese American patriots have fought and died for this country since before the Civil War.
It is outrageous that Mr. Beckel should slur these contributions to the United States, and APAPA demands a full apology from Fox Broadcasting and the immediate termination of Bob Beckel.
APAPA is in the process of organizing press conferences in Southern California as well as around the nation to voice its concern and disappointment about this alarming incidence.
