Dramatic Border Jurisdiction Photo

This photo popped up on my social media feed this morning:

According to the internet, it was taken in 1939 by Luis Marden for National Geographic and it purportedly depicts a fugitive being dragged by Border Patrol so that he doesn’t escape into Mexico.

Whether real or staged, it would certainly spark class conversation!
