Breakthrough’s Immigration Videos
An e-mail that you might find of interest:
I work for a nonprofit organization called Breakthrough, whose campaign on immigration creates animations, short viral video stories and an upcoming video game – ICED! I Can End Deportation, to expose the effects of the 1996 immigration laws. These laws are taking away human rights from long-time U.S. residents who are in the U.S legally. They are being detained and deported without access to due process and/or a fair day in court. We produce original content such as nine video stories from those who are directly affected by 1996 laws,- for example, we went into a detention center to interview people that are currently in deportation proceedings. We have also done two animations and one music video. We recently partnered with Detention Watch Network, for the Night of 1000 Conversations, to produce a hardcopy and downloadable educational toolkit that includes a discussion guide, sample interactive activities, our demands for change, talking points and additional resources. Download the PDF of the toolkit: http://www.breakthrough.tv/pdf/Restoring_lores_links.pdf
It would be great if you would be interested in talking about the media or posting the media that we have created and the issues that go along with them. You can watch the video here: http://www.breakthrough.tv/product_detail.asp?proid=86&id=7:
Here are more of our video stories on immigration: http://www.breakthrough.tv/media_cat.asp?id=3&shop_id=28
The only one that is not a Breakthrough production is: CAIR Coalition: Interviews with Detained Immigrants Please check out our animations: http://www.breakthrough.tv/product_detail.asp?proid=43&id=7
I think we have great content that you could use for your website or in your classroom at the University– we just want to get the word out about this issue. Thank you,
