Healing the Damage: Trauma and Immigrant Families in the Child Welfare System (Sept 2010)

Published by the Migration and Child Welfare National Network and the American Humane Association, this toolkit provides guidelines to assist child welfare and other community-based agencies working with children and families exposed to family violence (child maltreatment and domestic violence) and community violence, as well as current sources of traumatic stress. 

The primary author of this toolkit is Elena Cohen, Project Director for the Department of Justice Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention’s Safe Start Center and consultant for JBS International, Inc. Washington DC.
