DHS and Arizona Agree for Training of State Officers in Immigration Enforcement
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has announced an agreement between the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Arizona Department and Corrections to train Arizona personnel to perform immigration enforcement functions. See
State and local enforcement of the immigration laws continues to be a much-debated and controversial topic. However, the federal government continues to move in this direction. Los Angeles County recently agreed to assist the federal government in immigration enforcement.
