Immigration and No Child Left Behind Act

MPI and Urban Institute Co-Sponsored Event:
The New Demography of America’s Schools: Immigration and the No Child Left Behind Act

Immigration and the success of school reform – particularly the 2002 No Child Left Behind Act – have become as inextricably bound as they were at the turn of the 20th Century.

At this release and breakfast briefing, the authors of two ground-breaking reports will discuss their findings about students who are the children of immigrants and/or are English language learners, where they live and the schools they attend.  These findings, considered in the light of the landmark regulations of the NCLB Act, have significant implications for urban schools and education policy.
