Immigration News from New Haven

Yesterday, the mayor of New Haven (and leading candidate for governor of Connecticut) announced that the city would issue municipal ID cards, including to undocumented immigrants, to facilitate interactions with city agencies, utilities, and local merchants. The plan was developed and proposed to the mayor by students in Yale’s Community Lawyering Clinic this spring, on behalf of several Latino community groups.
