Refugee Forum

You are invited to participate in the first case of the month forum hosted by the Refugee Caselaw Site (www.refugeecaselaw.org), under the direction of Professor James C. Hathaway. This month’s forum considers the decision of the Canadian Federal Court in Williams v. Canada. In that case, the court set what amounts de facto to a duty on the part of a refugee claimant to renounce his or her citizenship if that is necessary to acquire citizenship in a safe country (thereby avoiding the need for refugee protection).
