Grits for Breakfast (April 22) has an entry on recent incidents of border corruption.  Here is the lead paragraph:

2006 Border Corruption Runs Amok: New cash for border cops should go to Internal Affairs The pattern is obvious to anyone paying attention, but I seldom hear public officials discuss it. Police corruption has cropped up along the Texas-Mexico border at a head-spinning pace in recent months.
