Reports from Immigration Rallies
My sources in El Paso, Texas, tell me that yesterday’s immigration rally in EP was upbeat and uplifting. The highlight was a spoken word poem from the daughter of two unauthorized migrants.
Today’s Washington Post describes a sign waived at an NYC rally that captures the general feeling at these rallies – a combination of ethnic and personal pride, warm regard for the U.S., pragmatism, and humor. The sign read “If you deport me, who will build the wall?”
