1. Civics and History96 Questions in English, Spanish and Chinese: The Office of Citizenship recently posted the Chineseversion of a list of the 96 Civics Flashcard Questions on itssite. To find it, go to www.uscis.gov. On the left of the home page, under”About Us and FOIA”, click on “Office of Citizenship.” Whenyou arrive at our page, look for the third bullet under “Products andPublications.” You will find the English, Spanish and Chinese lists.Or, type in this URL link:

2. Fact Sheet onImmigration Security Checks(dated April 25, 2006) explains how and why the process works.Please share this information with your communitymembers. The San Francisco District regularly reviews all casespending security checks and completes the process with due diligence.Applicants will receive a notification by mail when the case comes to aresolution. It is important that applicants notify the Service of anyaddress change while they await the outcome of a pending case. They can callthe National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283 to report anaddress change. They should also file form AR-11. If they wishthey can also write to the District Office: be sure to include the A filenumber, indicate the type of case (e.g. N-400, I-485), old and newaddress.

3. Conditional Asyleesneed to Report Current Address to receive Important Notice Mailings: conditional CPC grantees granted in the defensiveprocess (meaning by EOIR) should report changes of address to EOIR (aswell as to DHS via the AR-11 process) and not to USCIS Asylum Offices. Forfull details, please read the attached PDF file of the EOIR news release dated4/21/06.
4. TPSreminder: Hondurans andNicaraguans eligible to file a re-registration application for TemporaryProtected Status (TPS) must do so by the closing date of June 1, 2006. Failureto file a TPS re-registration application by June 1, will result in thewithdrawal of TPS benefits, including employment authorization and protectionfrom removal from the United States. There are approximately 75,000 nationalsof Honduras and 4,000 nationals of Nicaragua (or aliens having no nationalitywho last habitually resided in Honduras or Nicaragua respectively) who may beeligible for re-registration. If you provide service or support to theseapplicants, be sure to read the attached press release.
