Tracking of Immigration in Election 2006
Check out http://immigration2006.org Thiswebsite has attempted to catalogue how and where the immigration issue played in this election cycle and to analyze some of what we saw. In almost all of the competitive House and Senate races, the immigration issue had been raised and hotly debated. Though the issue cries for a federal response, it played in several gubernatorial races as well. The question, of course, was whether the issue was used wisely and whether the Republican Party, which in the main had been responsible for attack ads on the issue, ended up reaping the rewards it had hoped. Note that in 15 races tracked, the Grand Old Party lost 12. http://immigration2006.org/index.html
