New Immigration Data and Reports

TRAC’s on-line library of government oversight reports on immigration topics have been updated with a wide range of new reports. This growing library is one part of TRAC’s expanding public website on immigration (http://trac.syr.edu/immigration/) covering issues like disparity in asylum decisions, very timely data on criminal enforcement of the immigration laws, the handling of aggravated felonies, etc. The new material in TRAC’s library includes reports on Convention Against Torture, immigration consequences of criminal convictions, J-1 visa waivers for foreign physicians, and ICE shortcomings related to tracking detainee processes and locating alien files. The Library can be found at http://trac.syr.edu/immigration/library/ In addition, TRAC has updated the Immigration Enforcement section of the DHS website to reflect all of FY2005. Detailed maps, ranking tables, and individual district tables about the criminal enforcement of immigration laws by DHS for the United States as a whole, and for 90 federal judicial districts can be found at the TRAC-DHS website. Go to: http://trac.syr.edu/tracdhs/ and click on “Immigration Enforcement.”
