Swift Raids

Let the political games begin for immigration reform 2007!  Some have claimed that the meatpacking raids by DHS last week were an early effort to show the federal government’s commitment to enforcement.  The N.Y. Times today  (click here) claims that the raids show the need for “comprehensive” immigration reform. 

We will see what the new year brings in terms of immigration reform.  For now, there are a lot of immigrants who are not having a very good holiday season.
