The Ephraim Cruz case

Tim Vanderpool has written some hard-hitting articles in the Tuscon Weekly on the case of Border Patrol officer Ephraim Cruz who claims that he was set up for criminal prosecution for blowing the whistle on the harsh treatment of immigrant detainees. Cruz ultimately was acquitted of charges of bringing the undocumented girlfriend of another officer into the United States; he claimed that he did not know of her immigration status.  Click here and here for two of the stories.
