In “Newark Triple Murder Fuels Debate on Treatment of Illegal Immigrants,” KAREEM FAHIM  of the N.Y.Times writes about how Presidential hopefuls Rudy Giuliani (already with a new second spot highlighting the issue), Newt Gingrich, and Tom Tancredo are trying to make political hay out of the revelation that a suspect in the recent Newark, NJ. shootings, Jose Lachira Carranza, is an undocumented immigrant from Peru who could have been detained by federal immigration authorities after he was arrested three times on criminal charges.
