The Office of Immigration Statistics (OIS) would like to announce the release of *Estimates of the Unauthorized Immigrant Population Residing in the United States: January 2006*. This report provides estimates of the unauthorized immigrant population residing in the United States (11.6 million) as of January 2006, for periods of entry and leading countries of birth and states of residence.
