Our Town: A Look at Immigration Politics at the Local Level

An in-depth N.Y. Times Magazine story by ALEX KOTLOWITZ on the local politics of immigration, is well worth reading.  Among other things, Kotolowitz observes that the concern of many citizens is less about illegal immigration and more about the assimilation of immigrants into U.S. society (and learning English etc.).
