DREAM Act Dead — For Now
Senate Democrats late Wednesday retreated from forcing a debate about the DREAM Act as a rider to the defense reauthorization bill, although Majority Leader Harry Reid promised to find time before the end of the year for a vote on the proposal. The DREAM Act was attached by Senate Majority Whip Richard Durbin, D-Ill., as an amendment to the 2008 Defense Authorization Act. It has been removed from the Act.
