CALL FOR INTEREST IN NATIONAL IMMIGRATION LAW STUDENT ASSOCIATION

Students have formed organizations at several law schools dedicated to fostering interest in immigration law as a practice area. The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) also has a discounted student membership with several dozen active student members. Has the time come for a national student-led organization with law school chapters focussed on the practice of immigration law? Should AILA charter student chapters at law schools? If you or your students are interested in exploring these questions, please contact Professor David Koelsch with the University of Detroit Mercy’s Immigration Law Clinic at koelscdc@udmercy.edu

UDM has a very active Immigration Law Student Association with 30-plus members who are also student members of AILA. UDM’s students are eager to work with other students to develop a national network of students interested in practicing immigration law.
