Detention Center Employees Arrested
The Associated Press reports:
Authorities are investigating two federal immigration detention center employees arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle 28 illegal immigrants through a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint in South Texas.
The two workers arrested are employees of Centerville, Utah-based Management Training Corp., which runs the Willacy County Detention Center for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The workers were arrested around midnight Thursday while they tried to take the immigrants through the Sarita checkpoint, located about 100 miles north of Brownsville, officials said. Clickhere for the rest of the story.
