Some people assume that Latina/os all support wide-open immigration.  That is far from th etruth, however, David Gutierrez’s 1995 book Walls and Mirrors examined the complex relations between Mexican-Americans and Mexican immigrants.  Juan Castillo at the Austin American-Statesman looks at similar questions in a series — “fantastic” says immigration gury Dan Kowalski — on the “culture clash” between Mexican Americans and new immigrants.
