Poll Shows that Reps Trust McCain More Than Other Republican Candidates to Address Immigration Issues
The Washington Post released a poll today that, among other things, shows that Republicans responded to the question of which candidate could be trusted on the issue of immigration issues as follows:
1/12/08 – 12/9/07
John McCain 27 18
Rudy Giuliani 17 22
Mike Huckabee 15 11
Mitt Romney 11 9
Fred Thompson 9 10
Ron Paul 4 2
Duncan Hunter 2 1
None of them (vol.) 4 3
No opinion 12 20
It seems that, at least on the issue of immigration, John McCain has recovered some ground among Republicans despite his initial support of “amnesty” and “comprehensive” immigration reform.
