Immigrant of the Day: Pierce Brosnan (aka 007, James Bond) (Ireland)

Pierce Brendan Brosnan, born May 16, 1953, is an actor.  He abandoned a career in art to attend drama school at The Oval House in London for three years. Following stage acting career he rose to popularity in the television series Remington Steele. Brosnan portrayed the fictional secret agent James Bond in GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day.

Born in Ireland, Brosnan became a naturalized United States citizen in 2004.  However, he has retained his Irish citizenship. He said, “my Irishness is in everything I do. It’s the spirit of who I am, as a man, an actor, a father. It’s where I come from.”
