New Film: Under the Same Moon (La Misma Luna)

Earlier this week, we blogged on a new Colombian film realistically depicting the dangers of illegal crossings of the southern border into the United States.  Another film, Under the Same Moon (La Misma Luna), a Spanish-language drama, tells the story of a Mexican mother who comes to work in Los Angeles, leaving behind her young son across the border. Rosario (Kate del Castillo) is an undocumented immigrant who had to leave her son Carlitos (Adrian Alonso) behind in Mexico to find work in the U.S. After working dutifully for several years and sending money back home for Carlitos, Rosario goes on a dangerous journey to be reunited with her son.
