Bio_garciaalan Our Immigrant of the Day is Alan Garcia, born in Lima, who now live sin New Jersey.  Garcia is the jockey who rode Da’Tara to an upset victory over Triple Crown contender Big Brown in the Belmont Stakes this past Saturday.

Alan Garcia, 22 years old, in the 140th Belmont Stakes took 38-1 long shot Da’ Tara to upset Big Brown’s bid for a Triple Crown. According to one reprorter, Garcia was virtually speechless when he asked after th erace what the victory meant to his career. “I don’t have any words to say.”
