The ACLU Investigates Immigrant Policing Abuses

Anne Arundel County’s immigration policies are included in a new statewide investigation launched yesterday by the Maryland Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union. The civil rights group’s first Immigrants Rights Project aims to evaluate whether any local attempts to enforce federal laws in Maryland have violated the civil rights of immigrant communities. Anne Arundel’s heavily publicized anti-undocumented immigrant policies drew the attention of ACLU officials.
