Professor Accused of Genocide in Rwanda, Faces Deportation
Federal immigration officials announced on Friiday that the government is seeking to deport a Maryland community collegea professor accused of genocide in his native Rwanda. In December, Leopold Munyakazi was suspended with pay from his teaching job at Goucher College where he taught French, after the college learned that he had been indicted on murder and several genocide-related charges in Rwanda. Dr. Munyakazi has denied the accusations, which stem from 1994, when more than 500,000 Tutsi and moderate Hutu were killed in Rwanda.
