More Native-Born than Foreign Born Mexicans, a new Report Finds

A majority of Hispanics of Mexican origin who resided in the United States in 2007 were native-born and spoke English proficiently, according to new demographic profiles from the Pew Hispanic Center.  They found that a total of 29.2 million Hispanics of Mexican origin lived in the U.S. in 2007, comprising the largest population of Hispanic origin in the country and accounting for nearly two-thirds of the U.S. Hispanic population. There are also reports on the Salvadorean, Dominican Repubic, Cuban, and Puerto Rican populations in the US in 2007.
