TRYING A CASE IN IMMIGRATION COURT: ADVICE FROM THE BENCH AND BAR

This program focuses on teaching new and experienced immigration practitioners what to expect when they appear before an immigration judge at a master calendar hearing and individual hearing.  The program will address the immigration practice manual, the submission of evidence, preparation of witnesses, and tips for formulating a direct and cross-examination. Participants also will learn more about the burden of proof in immigration cases, rules of evidence, and motions practice.  Faculty will provide a practical, hands-on approach to trying a case.
