Immigrant of the Day: Professor David Garland (Scotland)

 
Our Immigrant of the Day is David Garland is Arthur T. Vanderbilt Professor of Law and Professor of Sociology at New York University.  Born in Dundee, Scotland, Garland graduated from the University of Edinburgh School of Law with an LLB and a PhD and from Sheffield University. 

 
Garland is the author of the book Peculiar Institution: America’s Death Penalty in an Age of Abolition, which was candidly reviewed (see the N.Y. Times report) in the New York Review of Books by Justice John Paul Stevens.
