Tony West to Speak on SB1070 Lawsuit

 
Tony West, the Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Division of the Department of Justice, will be the keynote speaker this Thursday evening, May 19, 2011, at the annual Phillip Burton Awards Dinner of the Immigrant Legal Resource Center in San Francisco. As head of the Civil Division, Mr. West brought the government’s lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of Arizona’s anti-immigrant SB 1070. The Ninth Circuit recently upheld the trial court’s injunction against SB 1070, and Arizona Govenor Jan Brewer is vowing to take the case to the Supreme Court.
