Please join the Smithsonian Institution and its community partners on November 8th for Silver Spring Stories: A Conversation about Immigration and Community.

This evening of conversation around the history of immigration and the creation of new communities in Silver Spring and Montgomery County will be an historic opportunity to meet your neighbors, exchange information, and learn about documenting and preserving your history.

The event is being organized by the Smithsonian’s “Americans All: The Immigration/Migration Initiative” in collaboration with the Gandhi Brigade, Asian American Lead, the Muslim Community Center, the Silver Spring Historical Society, IMPACT Silver Spring, Centronía, Montgomery Preservation, Inc., the African Immigrant and Refugee Foundation, the Latino Economic Development Corporation (LEDC), and the Silver Spring Regional Center. The program will be moderated by Phil Tajitsu Nash from the University of Maryland’s Asian American Studies Program.
