AILA Networking Event for Law Students and Recent Grads

From the American Immigration Lawyers Association:

I am writing to you to let you know that the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s (AILA) 2013 Annual Conference (AC) is quickly approaching – and I need your help! Each year at AC we host a free Panel Discussion and Networking Event for law students and recent graduates. This year the panel discussion will take place on Wednesday, June 26th at 5:00pm at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square in San Francisco, California. I’m writing to ask you to forward this information to any students or recent graduates that may have an interest in immigration law.

I have attached a flyer that you may use as you deem fit: post it online, post it on campus, and send it to students and graduates. We know how difficult it can be for a current student or recent grad to find internship opportunities and jobs, so we have designed this free program in an effort to bring law students together with current practicing attorneys to facilitate connections.

The event will start at 5:00pm and will include a panel discussion with attorneys from various practice settings (family-related immigration law, business-related immigration law, government, non-profit, education, small-sized firm, medium-sized firm, etc). This is an opportunity for students and recent grads to bring questions and learn about the career paths of our panelists as well as the many opportunities that could await those interested in immigration law. After the discussion and Q&A time, we invite all attendees to visit the AILA Exhibit Hall to learn more about AILA, speak with vendors, or take part in any of several AILA trainings offered during the evening. Additionally, we invite all attendees to attend one of the roundtable sessions taking place that evening, covering topics such as Visa Waiver Issues, Motions to Suppress & Immigration Court Challenges to Illegal Government Action, Visa Strategies for Foreign Entrepreneurs & Start-up Companies, Adjustment, and so many more.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns, and please forward this information along to anyone you believe would be interested in learning more about immigration law and the many career opportunities in this field of law. Additional information about the student event and panelist bios can be found on the attached document.

Kind regards,
