Immigrant Wish List for Next Mayor of New York City

From the New York Immigration Coalition:

Today New York votes for a new Mayor and thousands of immigrant voters are headed to the polls! While votes are being counted, the New York Immigration Coalition is working to ensure that the needs of immigrants are made priority in the upcoming administration. On Monday, November 4th, the eve of New York City’s general elections, advocates and leaders from New York’s diverse immigrant communities flooded the steps of City Hall to announce a “Top 10 Wish List” of priorities for New York’s next Mayor. We wanted to share this wish list of priorities with you. Click HERE to view them (e.g., access to health care, economic development, fair treatment of workers).

New York is home to more than three million immigrants, who make up 1 out of 3 New Yorkers and more than half of the City’s workforce. With this historic election of the first new mayor in twelve years upon us, these top ten “wishes” for immigrant communities are the first step in a process that will result in an “Immigrant City Agenda” to be presented to the new Administration.
