Asian America, Foreignness and Racial Slurs: NYT Reporter @michaelluo’s Twitter Feed

Here’s something to read now:  New York Times reporter Michael Luo’s Twitter feed (@michaelluo).  Over the weekend an older woman on the Upper East Side of New York City yelled at Luo and told him to “Go back to China!”, an incident he both tweeted (#thisis2016) about and wrote about in an open letter in the New York Times.  Now scores of Asian Americans are tweeting their own experiences with foreignness and racial slurs, and Luo is retweeting them.  They’re worth a read, perhaps even a class discussion in conjunction with the Chinese Exclusion and other plenary power cases.
