The New York Times has an in-depth piece sharing the perspective of Sunayana Damala, the wife of hate crime victim Srinivas Kuchibhotla, an Indian-American engineer whose murder received a fair amount of media attention earlier this year.  Kuchibhotla was shot at a Kansas bar by a man who demanded to know Kuhibhotla’s immigration status, yelled “get out of my country,” and later reported that he believed his victims were from Iran. The piece shares the story of her life with her late husband, their courtship, lives in America and her grief in the aftermath of the shooting.
