Around the world, communities, schools, businesses, faith groups and people from all walks of life are taking big and small steps in solidarity with refugees. This World Refugee Day, we challenge everyone to join together and take a step with refugees. Join the movement.

In 2017, for the first time in modern history, the United States resettled fewer refugees than the rest of the world. That number further declined last year, even though there are more displaced people worldwide than at any other point in history.

The American Immigration Council shares a newly updated fact sheet on the U.S. refugee system to make sure you have the most current information at your fingertips.
