Now Streaming: His House

His House is a horror/thriller now streaming on Netflix.  As BBC describes the premise: “two young asylum seekers from South Sudan struggle to adjust to a new life in a rundown house in a small English town, where they feel a terrible evil lurks behind their walls.”

I’m sure immprofs don’t need convincing of the connection between the asylum process and horror films. The director was apparently inspired by how asylum seekers in the UK are given housing that they cannot leave, combined with the paranoia that comes from the combination of past trauma and difficulties with resettlement.
