Streaming Soon–Seeking Asylum: A Mother’s Journey

The documentary Seeking Asylum: A Mother’s Journey will be available for streaming on February 21. The filmmakers’ goal is to “bear witness to the endless deterrents migrants face when petitioning for asylum in the United States.”

As the San Diego Union-Tribune reports, the filmmakers met a Honduran woman in Tijuana who was seeking asylum in the U.S. but was repelled to Mexico under the RIM/MPP policies of the Trump Administration. Later, she was paroled into the U.S. to pursue her asylum claims. The filmmakers followed this journey.

Interestingly, the film’s website doesn’t just promote the film itself. There are three clear calls to action:

• Reform Immigration Courts
• Fund Legal Representation
• Ensure People Can Seek Asylum
